About this event

The Higher Education Character Convening is presented by Samford University's Orlean Beeson School of Education in sponsorship with other universities.

This two-day conference will be held on Monday, May 12 beginning at 5 pm, Tuesday, May 13 from 8 am-3:00 pm and Wednesday, May 14 from 8 am to 1 pm.

Our Keynote speaker is Dr. Liz Gulliford from the Jubilee Centre at the University of Birmingham in England. This year's theme will be Caught, Taught, Sought with convening to include keynote addresses, breakout sessions, problems of practice, and character-based research. Participants will choose from a varied selection of breakout sessions to attend. A networking session will provide the opportunity for attendees to connect with other school leaders pursuing similar goals.

There is a limited block of rooms reserved at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Resort for this convening. In addition to registering for the conference, you need to make a hotel reservation. You will receive an email from Eventbrite with full details on how to book after registration. Be sure to book soon. We look forward to seeing you in May!
